|Description=Automotive diagnostic software for Volvo passenger vehicles
}}Volvo Vehicle Information and Diagnostics for Aftersales (VIDA) is a software package and related subscription service offered by Volvo for use with its cars manufactured as of 2001 or later. The suite consists of a computer running the relevant software, as well as an adapter connecting the computer to the car; The official adapter is called DiCE. This software allows for various diagnostics to be performed on a car, as well as some limited configuration changes depending on the model. VIDA is a successor product to VADIS

Consumer-impact summary
Version of VIDA up to and including version 2014D were available as standalone products, able to be run on a single computer. It required a subscription and periodic network connection. Certain actions, such as programming new keys, required additional fees. While the only officially supported configuration required a Volvo DiCE adapter, car enthusiasts have determined that numerous third party USB to OBD2 adapters also work with VIDA, such as the Mongoose JLR adapter and any other J2543 compliant adapter. VIDA 2014D is the last standalone version of the software, and is widely distributed in cracked form for use by car enthusiasts, usually in the form of a prepackaged virtual machine with the software prepared.
Vida was always using subscription model. pre 2015 version were installed locally and was pretty easy crackable. So all subscription free versions were unoficial and illegal one. You were only able to do diagnostics, browse parts catalogue and read repair manuals.

All programming, key coding etc required additional payment for software pack (which sometimes was only a pin code).

Above is true at least for US, UK, France, Belgium, Poland, Norway, Sweden Finland. Krissn (talk) 09:51, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
