===Incident=== On August 30th, 2023 Magic Leap sent an email to customers announcing the end-of life of the Magic Leap 1 after December 31st, 2024. In the same email they also announced the shutdown of the Magic Leap 1 developer forum and Discord channel on September 29th, 2023.<ref>https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=37322435. In this article, they explain that the device will no longer be supported. As the article states, the device core functionality including the device and its apps as well as cloud services are no longer available. This means that the device is now no longer usable by any end user who had purchased the product.
