Talk:Hauptwerk expiration of perpetual license download
Add topicPossible false advertising of infinite/indefinite downloads available
[edit source]I watched the synopsis of this in the YouTube video today, and noticed a part of the video showing the latest download page for proof of the perpetual license. The item I'd like to point out is at the 3:42 mark of the video where the "Downloads Remaining" heading on the license/download part of the Hauptwerk account page it clearly shows an infinity symbol under the download heading. Visually, this cues up the notion that "download" of the software will always be available, not just the license to use it. I'm unsure as to where this can apply in a legal or lawsuit-worthy sentiment, but my knee-jerk reaction is false advertising. No, that page listed is not in an advertisement or public sector but it is clearly listing the download as available indefinitely. The support person that the claimant stated they are only able to provide support for the latest version of the software, and there is no support for legacy versions can be refuted right there. Either the support person needs to do better homework on the product availability, update their support/download page to reflect the "downloads available" is no longer valid, or they have grounds to come back to that support person to demand (at the minimum) a one-time-use download of the legacy version they paid for since they have clearly labeled there are indefinite downloads available. - Exactly. I came here to suggest the screenshot should be added to the article, because I also noticed the infinite downloads remaining. 82.78.167.23 23:18, 2 November 2025 (UTC)
