Violations by individuals or governments/government bodies are more than likely outside the scope of our [[Project:About| mission statement]].However instances of a GDPR violation by a company could be worthy of an incident article depending on the size of the organization and the severity of the incident (remember [[Consumer_Action_Taskforce:Inclusion_guidelines#Hyper-local,_run-of-the-mill_issues_do_not_belong_here. |hyper-local, run-of-the-mill issues do not belong in the wiki]]). A section should be added to the "Incidents" section of company articles or Product/Product lines but in many cases a full Incident article is warranted with those violations.

This website can also be used when creating a [[Consumer_Action_Taskforce:Article_types#Tier_2:_Companies,_People,_and_Product/Service/Website/Software_articles_(or_'entity'_articles)|company page]] to quickly check if a GDPR violation worthy incident involving said company has resulted in a fine in the past.

Searching for a company and checking the details provides the relevant law violated as well as a press release form the countries regulating body. When mentioning the violation in a CAT wiki article this press realease sould be used as the primary reference.
