Hey @[[User:InTransparencyWeTrust|InTransparencyWeTrust]] unless something changes in regards to the mission statement the fear is that evaluating something as postitive is adding extra subjectivity to the discussion and that it could be translated as promotion/endorsment. We have a page on the [[Stop Killing Games]] campaign, would that be a good place to include a reference? The type of this article is still an incident. :::I conflated the discussions on "good products/companies" and incidents when thinking about this. My hesitation stems mostly because the criteria for inclusion focus on the consumer protection aspect so they are not as well defined for the positive incidents.
:::In the case of valve the move was correcting an anti-consumer practice they previously engaged in so its easy to determine its worth including.
:::If we do include such incidents then maybe having some sort of connection to the negative practices would help have a basis.
:::For example in the C&C case open sourcing the article helps keep the game alive without the company having to support it so a case could be made that it is helps in order to make the game available for longer to those who made the purchase previously (via community patches etc)

:::I do think that the StopKillingGames article  might be a good place to include a section on this. I am still unsure on the general approach we should have on the positive practices articles. But since its very related to the topic of the campaign it fits there. Though that in itself is an incident article that might be better turned into a theme article. In any case I was wrong to mark as irrelevant, its just that a bit of organizational work might be needed to properly fit these into the wiki. ::::Great, for now it has been added as a section on video game preservation, with a main article link for the theme article that can be created. Beside what EA did I also included the recent developments by Valve, the source code of Team Fortress 2 is also available now.
