Sonos forces post-purchase privacy policy change: Difference between revisions

[[Sonos|'''Sonos, Inc.''']] specializes in the manufacture of audio devices many of which are connected to the internet and provide "smart" features. Using those features inevitably provides Sonos with data on the users of their products.

Very interestingly, the only 2 sentences that were emboldened in the May 2022 Sonos privacy statement<ref name=":0">4.[https://www.sonos.com/pdfs/policies/2022-privacy-statement-en-us.pdf Sonos, Inc. Privacy Statement 2022] ''(PDF). Sonos. May 2022.''</ref> that were NOT emboldened in the March 2023 Sonos privacy statement are the following: "We do not and will not sell your personal data to third parties." on page 1 of the statement; and "Sonos does not and will not sell personal information about our customers." on page 11 of the 2022 privacy statement and page 12 of the 2023 privacy statement.<ref name=":1" /> This change in text formatting is not present in any of the 100 other emboldened sentences and titles.   

On March 2023 Sonos' privacy statement stated, on page 12 of 35 under the "How We May Share Personal Information" section: "We do not and will not sell your personal data to third parties".<ref name=":1">
