On July 27, 2020, Wink introduced a subscription model for their previously subscription free Smarthome Hub.[1][2]
Users who do not sign up will be restricted to limited functionality, including local control over select devices, such as those found in the Lights + Power menu, as well as Z-Wave connected Locks.
Features no longer available without signing up[edit | edit source]
User will no longer have access to:[2]
- Cloud and API control (voice, remote app control, third-party integrations)
- Groups
- Robots
- Shortcuts
- Activity
- Advanced Hub settings
Users will have no longer the ability to:[2]
- View, add, delete or rename codes
- Add devices
- Change icons and edit device names
- View or add saved locations
- Share and unshare devices
- Update hub and relay firmware
