Instead of wasting money of expensive machines with expensive filters and creating a lot of waste, make your own filter with a $20-30 Lasko box fan, part of the cardboard box it comes in, 4 furnace filters (I just use the strongest AC filters), a knife, and some tape. The filters should be replaced annually.
For something cheaper, you can tape an AC filter to the front of the fan.
