== Suggestion: Consumer Rights Wins ==
Hello, I'm a new contributor.
I would like to suggest the creation of a page/category where we can advocate for products/services that are 'consumer rights wins' with repairability or other features that qualify them as a good investment or a not-crappy-capitalist-product.
I don't know whether this already exists or not but I could not find it if it does.
For example:
Framework laptops https://frame.work/: user repairable and expandable to a huge degree with customization.
Epson ink tank printers https://epson.com/ecotank-ink-tank-printers: While the ink tanks do have 'keyed' fill holes, it is far easier to bypass that mechanism than DRM on competitor brand ink cartridges. Even the genuine ink bottles are far cheaper in all metrics, and produce far less environmental waste. According to Epson, a set of black and color bottles (sold for $75.95) replaces approximately 80 cartridges and prints ~6000 pages black and ~5500 pages color. Not having DRM also helps prevent software issues even when using genuine cartridges. [[User:Joe Schmo|Joe Schmo]] ([[User talk:Joe Schmo|talk]]) 16:01, 2 September 2025 (UTC)
