Zscaler ThreatLabz Android malware report
There is a report that says that Google Play has a 67% year-over-year increase in Android malware transactions. I'd expect there to be comments pointing out the hypocracy of malware of their app distribution service and how identifocation simply isn't an effective method. ==Questionable edit from March 2026==
Tagging @JodyBruchonFan while here, since your edit reason prompted me to take a closer look.
I found this edit made on March 23, 2026, where the user explained it was to fix a typo... but had removed four citations, unlinked words in a couple instances, and deleted the incident cargo itself. They have made no other contribution since.
Going a bit further back, a very similar IP address using the exact same reason had also made an edit on March 17, 2026, where they had removed the incident cargo and entire paragraphs. No spamming, self-promoting, or trying to re-frame the narrative. Just removing content and not being honest about why.
Both instances occurred before I was made a moderator on March 30, which is why I'm only noticing this now. I'll work on undoing the damage and, if this sort of thing happens again, it may be worthwhile to semi-protect the page. — Sojourna (talk) 23:13, 8 June 2026 (UTC)
:The damage wasn't as bad as it initially appeared; I only needed to re-add the incident cargo (though that's also a topic I mean to bring up separately). So instead, I spent some hours combing through and cleaning up the article page <strike>because I'm a masochist</strike>. — Sojourna (talk) 05:36, 9 June 2026 (UTC)
What sort of article is this?
Is it an incident page? Product? Theme? After going through the whole page, it honestly feels like a gargantuan hybrid of all three. A fair amount of it could be merged into Google Android restrict app sideloading and be a better fit there.
I restored the removed incident cargo data, as mentioned in the topic above this one, but I do not believe it is the correct cargo to use for the subject. — Sojourna (talk) 05:41, 9 June 2026 (UTC)
