Before creating your first page, take a look at our article types page, familiarize yourself with the editorial guidelines, as well as our content policies and style guide.

Keep in mind:

Include credible and verifiable sources.

One source is the bare minimum for each article; anecdotal evidence is not a source.

Every claim made must be verifiable.

Add references to everything that is not common knowledge or easily verified via an internet search.

Issues described must be systemic.

No isolated incidents and personal experiences.

Create page

If the page name you enter exists, you will be redirected to edit that page.

Tier 3

These pages should be able to be referred to as something of a ‘historical record’ and should have a good deal of factual content relating to the event(s) in question, complete with links to, and citations of, various contemporary sources.

Incident

An Incident page will cover an event, or chain of events, which surrounds one instance of anti-consumer activity (or anything else, such as the passing of a law, which is relevant to the wiki).

Tier 2

This tier of articles may well be the most useful to the casual reader. This is where someone who googles [insert thing here] consumer protection wiki will usually end up. For example, "LG controversies consumer protection wiki".

Company

The Company page should provide a brief overview of a company and assess their consumer protection stance.

Product line

The Product line page should establish the product line's scope and significance, followed by a general assessment of consumer protection concerns typically linked to these products.

Product

The Product, website, software and/or service page should include an overview of the product, along with an assessment of typical consumer protection concerns associated with it.

Tier 1

Theme articles are a useful tool for determining what is and isn’t suitable for inclusion in the wiki, defining and explaining concepts related to consumer protection

Theme

Themes are a high-level type of page, which should primarily aim to explain and justify core consumer protection concepts and challenges.
