Jailbreaking (also known as rooting) is the act of gaining control of the software on a device.[1]

Reasons to jailbreak[edit | edit source]

Jailbreaking enables users to install unsigned applications and tweak functionality of the OS.[2] It also allows users to pirate applications on their devices.
