Miele appliances are equipped with online functionality, and protocols used for managing those appliances are proprietary. No Matter integration is provided although Miele is part of CSA.[1],

Instead Miele offers its own protocol which is difficult to set up and only practical for technically experienced users.

Miele App Incident

With Version 4.0 released in 2021, the Miele companion app had suddenly lost critical advertised features such as:

  • The washing assistant
  • The ability to view the remaining detergent in washing machines.

These functions came back slowly in 2022 after lots of negative feedback from users.
