I asked if I could request to opt out of Ring if/when I renew my lease with them, and they told me all locations are now requiring Ring (as part of their "Smart Home" features), and it will be part of rent.

I have a recorded phone call with this conversation, but I haven't looked up if everything here is true in writing. I'm not sure of all their locations are truly "Smart Homes" with Ring cameras, I recall that not being the case, but maybe the representative meant this will apply to all houses the company acquires from now on. Mandatory Ring devices in homes

I rent my house through Invitation Homes. Part of my monthly bill goes towards a subscription of the Ring camera which was already installed in the home when I moved in.

On February 10, 2026, I called the company's local support line, and I said I wanted to opt out of the Ring subscription. They told me it was part of my lease contract.
