|MSFS 2020 does require a Constant Internet Connection to the Microsoft Cloud to play it with the best graphical quality. The Game has also an Offline Mode, but then the Game will have less graphical quality. There is also an option to download detailed terrain data (as long as Microsoft will not shut the servers for that option down). In theory, it would be possible to download the whole map, but in practice, it's not possible (for the vast majority of the people) because the whole map is more than 2 Petabytes big.  There are also Multiplayer servers that are At-risk of shutting down.
