[edit | edit source]On 6 March, the Boyd County Health Department released an statement on Facebook declaring one employee working at two Waffle House restaurants was infected with hepatitis around 12 February through 28 February. Affected individuals had until 13 March to receive a post exposure vaccine.[1][2][3] After the announcement, King's Daughters Medical Center received numerous calls from customers expressing concern and worry of possibly being exposed, however it was found that no customers contracted Hepatitis A.[4] On 20 March, Waffle House along with Riverside Restaurant Group, LLC, Wh Capital,LLC, and other unknown defendants was faced with a class action lawsuit from four alleged victims[5][6], however. it was dismissed on 13 June 2019.[7]
2021
[edit | edit source]On 2 July, the Cabarrus Health Alliance released a statement declaring one employee with hepatitis A worked at a Waffle House restaurant located at 010 Vinehaven Dr. NE, Concord.[8][9] The Cabarrus Health Alliance determined exposure date to be around 20 June between 9 pm and 12 am, and 21 June between 12 am and 7 am, giving customers until 4 July or 5 July to get vaccinated.[10][9][11]
