Subscription service
While Tinder offers its base service for free, several subscription tiers are available to gain benefits and advantages on the platform.
Subscription Tiers
Tinder has three paid subscription plans that give users various benefits depending on their chosen plan. Each tier includes the benefits from the lower tiers:[1]
- Free: Users get a limited amount of likes they can give per day, and can chat with matches.
- Plus: Users get unlimited likes and "rewinds", as well as no advertisements and extra features.
- Gold: Users get extra features, including seeing who has liked them, "boosts" and "super likes".
- Platinum: Users are able to message others before matching, get "prioritized likes", and are able to see a week-long history of likes.
Pricing
The price of Tinder subscriptions differ based on location and currency. When paying monthly, the cost ranges from $24.99/mo to $49.99/mo in the United States, and $26.99/mo to $53.99/mo in Canada.[2]
In Europe, Tinder has faced scrutiny over the use of personalized pricing. A 2022 study in Sweden concluded that Tinder applied 36 different pricing levels, ranging from the equivalent of $3/mo to $36/mo. This reportedly included pricing differences based on the age of the user.[3]
Cancellation
A Tinder subscription can be cancelled, and is done either from within the app, website, Google Play Store, or Apple App Store, depending on which platform and payment method was used. Regardless, in all cases the subscription is click-to-cancel. However, a subscription does not get cancelled automatically when deleting the user's account.[4]
