CARIAD is a company that develops software solutions for the automotive industry. This company is part of the Volkswagen Group.

Anti-consumer practices

They came into controversy in 2024 for a misconfiguration causing customer location data to be made publicly accessible. In response to the controversy, Cariad stated that "[we have] no need to take any action, as no sensitive information such as passwords or payment details are affected."[1]
