Flightradar24 is a Swedish Internet-based service that shows real-time aircraft flight tracking information on a map. It includes flight tracking information, origins and destinations, flight numbers, aircraft types, positions, altitudes, headings and speeds. It can also show time-lapse replays of previous tracks and historical flight data by airline, aircraft, aircraft type, area, or airport. [1][2]
Flightradar24 announced the shutdown of their legacy mobile application effective March 30th 2020.[3] Different version of the legacy application were available, including a free version, as well as a paid premium and pro version. Some premium features were further accessible via a one-time purchase. The new app, while available for free, implemented a subscription-based model, which had originally been introduced for the website version of the service. The legacy applications eventually ceased to function, with consumers losing access of purchased features, which were not honored in the new subscription-based application. [4]
