Cuisinart is a kitchen appliance manufacturer. They began by introducing a food processor in 1973 and has since offered Coffee Makers, Percolators, Kettles, Cutlery, Toasters, Air Fryers and many other types of appliances and utensils. They were purchased by Conair in 1989[1].
Consumer-impact summary
- Dispute Resolution: Cuisinart forces binding arbitration between the plaintiff and Conair for dispute resolution. Arbitration is 'opt-out' and a letter must be mailed to Conair. The arbitrator cannot consolidate more than one person's claims (such as Class-Action). The terms of use also require that the plaintiff forfeits trail by jury.[2]
- Part Purchasing: Cuisinart sells parts for a subset of its appliances.
