Quest 1 basically bricked after factory reset.

Hey i am new to Wiki systems, so please notify if i need to adjust something. And please pardon my Engrish, i am German. ^^

- I wanted to use my Quest 1 after several years. I was not able to log in to my old oculus account and a constant error message showes that i need to enter some code when asked by meta.

- I followed the website on screen (something oculus.com) but there was no site. I was redirected to the meta homepage.

- Tried to recover my account there but no luck. There i was already a bit miffed because i bauth 2 or 3 apps on said account.

- At this point i could still connect with Sidequest and start apps via workaround through the Windows program

- Because this was not satisfactory i was dumb enough to do a factory reset.

- I was greeted with the message that i NEED a so called Horizon app to setup the device. WTF?!

- Couldn't even get into the standard operating environment. Now i startet to get really grumpy.

- a basic function is now blocked because of some forced firmware update 3+ years ago.

- With grinding teeth I created a random account on Meta and installed the stupid Horizon app

- But no dice. The *** app can connect to the Quest (this is also acknowledged inside the headset), but the setup process grinds to a halt at the "Safety Briefing".

- It is frustrating enough that none of the explainations during setup are skippable, wich takes around 10 minutes to get to the safety thing.

- But then waiting for a random 4 minute video to end?!... The video was playing in a loop and i let the thing run for a while. Thought "may some download in the headset".

- I repeated the procedure of "factory reset - Horizon app reinstall (tried it on 2 Android phones) - waiting - cursing -waiting - video loop" at least 4 times, as per instruction by meta bot.

- and to top the whole 3 day ride i tried to get a human on the line to fix this mess.

- i have a made copy of the last conversation with the chat bot. It's ridicoulus. the first time it send me through a loop inside the help section, wich brought me back to the bot after several clicks.

- second time i didn't fall for this, an i stayed in the chat window, demanding a human support. Bot acted compliant. But no Support member to be found.

- Quote: "Meta Horizon app issues during Quest setup can be tricky. A customer support member will be able to help you resolve the problem with the safety screen loop. Tap Get help to get connected - I've included your details so you can pick up where you left off."

- i have 4 variations of this text because the button named "Get Help" (under the Bot message) does nothing.

- Now here i am, spamming a wall of text... Is there a way to solve this?
