Summary

edit

One of the security Torx screws fastening the cover over the rear axle of a reader's Gotrax electric scooter, recessed in the black plastic dropout cover with the worn honeycomb tire behind it. The head is a six-lobe star with a raised pin in the center, the pin-in-Torx pattern sold as Torx TR or security Torx. A standard Torx or hex bit will not seat in the head because the center pin blocks it. This is the first fastener the owner met when he tried to change the tire.

Photograph supplied by the scooter's owner in an email to Louis Rossmann, June 2026. Firsthand, not independently verified.
