Incidents edit
Dark Matter 27-inch monitor, "warranty void if removed" stickers edit
The Dark Matter 27-inch gaming monitor from Monoprice has a "warranty void if removed" sticker over a screw on the monitors VESA mounting point.[2] This screw must be removed if the consumer wanted to use a monitor arm or otherwise utilize the advertised VESA compatibility of the monitor. This raised concerns about whether the sticker was deliberately placed to deny warranty claims from consumers who mounted their monitors, as removing the sticker to access the screw would supposedely render the warranty invalid.[3][4]
