Preferential pricing for those over 18 and other issues

Kroger offers a senior discount on certain days, but they are up front about it. If they want to charge those under 18 more than most people, that is an unusual choice, but it is their choice. It is unclear why charge more to a population that, at least historically, has less earning power. But why do they hide their choice down in the policy pages? Why aren't they up front about the discount for being over 18? The fact that this is hidden in the fine print makes me feel like it may be an issue worthy of inclusion.

So far the only source I have on this is primary https://www.fredmeyer.com/i/terms/website-and-app

The agreement also calls for binding arbitration, so by using their accounts you pay with your information and your ability to seek redress.

Their privacy policy makes claims about their values, but their actions give different picture. https://www.fredmeyer.com/i/privacy-policy

If you know of any secondary sources which cover this, please post them. Thanks.

Sorry if these issues are not exactly apropos for this article. May be more germane to a general Kroger article. Drakeula (talk) 19:19, 18 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
