My opinions on iRacing

It's a subscription just to access the game in both online and offline modes, meaning you don't own the game regardless of where you got it from. According to their terms of use and end user license agreement, the tracks and cars are licensed as long as you have a subscription there. Also, there's a binding arbitration in their terms of use.
