In-N-Out Restaurant store closure due to suspected Norovirus affecting Customers (2017)
A In-N-Out location in Livermore California had shut down on May 6 after 9 customers reported getting sick. One customer commented on the situation to a new station, saying;[2]
“My family did take out from the North Livermore Avenue on Monday night,” Redell said. “My wife and I had some burgers and fries. Both of us were fine. But our 14-year-old daughter was complaining of cramps and feeling nauseous after her meal. And then was fine a short time later."
A company spokesman at In-N-Out responded to the closure, saying; “Here at In-N-Out Burger, the health and well-being of our customers and our associates is a top priority. We apologize for any inconvenience this closure may cause for our customers and we will re-open our Livermore restaurant once we are certain that there are no issues there."[3]
On May 12, the store reopened after a investigation was conducted, finding no source for the outbreak, however health officials suspect the norovirus to be the culprit.[2][4]
