===False advertizing about domain privacy===
The page about the [https://www.infomaniak.com/en/domains/domain-privacy domain privacy] feature contains the following statements:<blockquote>Without Domain Privacy, your data will be visible to everyone

Domain Privacy prevents your identity being stolen and used for commercial or unlawful purposes.

By default, the companies used to register domain names (registrars) are obligated to publish the contact information of domain name owners in this database which is public and free to access</blockquote>The [https://www.infomaniak.com/en/legal/confidentiality-policy privacy policy] contains similar statements:<blockquote>ICANN accredited registrars are required to publish domain owner information in the Whois database of the domain name registry. Everyone can see that you are the owner of a domain name. However, thanks to Domain Privacy, Infomaniak offers the possibility of preserving the confidentiality of these data when the domain registry authorises it.</blockquote>These statements are true for some registrars, but not in general. This issue is highlighted in a Reddit post on the Infomaniak channel, which also reports that once domain privacy has been enabled for a domain, trying to disable it shows a warning<ref>{{Cite web |last=@Desairem |first= |date=2025-05-02 |title=Infomaniak makes false statements about domain privacy |url=https://www.reddit.com/r/Infomaniak/comments/1kd2mki/infomaniak_makes_false_statements_about_domain/ |access-date=2025-06-04 |website=[[Reddit]]}}</ref>:<blockquote>ICANN accredited registrars are required to publish the contact details of the person responsible for a domain in the public WHOIS directory</blockquote>According to the same post, the Infomaniak support was informed in September 2024 about these concerns. Infomaniak did not comment the post itself.
