archive.today (also known as archive.ph, archive.is, and by other domain names) is an internet archiving site similar to the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine. It has archived thousands of web pages and is one of the largest web archiving services, with Archive.org being the largest.
Incidents
[edit | edit source]Alleged DDoS attack and snapshot tampering (2026)
[edit | edit source]In February 2026, the online encyclopedia Wikipedia banned links to archive.today after the site allegedly carried out a DDoS attack against a blog called Gyrovague, which had published research into the background of archive.today's operator. Editors also found that some archived snapshots on the site appeared to have been tampered with.[1]
In March 2026, the Russian internet service provider TTK blocked access to archive.today in Russia.[2]
Consumer Rights Wiki's response
[edit | edit source]Following the incident, Consumer Rights Wiki also banned the use of archive.today links for archiving.
