Consumer impact summary

[edit | edit source]

Presonus discontinues VSL software in 2015 used to tweak volumes, mute, solo, add effects on FX chain aswell as changing buffer size, sampling rate and other interface settings. [2]

The claim is that incompatibility with MacOS made them drop support for the application even on windows, effectively removing from the user the capability to have control over the interface as a mixer without opening a DAW.

The product was marketed to be shipped with this useful software and is shown on the box of the interface. Upgrading the firmware of the interface results in not having access to the previously installed mixer software
