Talk:Casey Stefanski
Unsure if she's notable enough to need a full article dedicated to her
editIf I'm not mistaken, the only incident/company she's connected with is this DCA lobbying group and the legal but dubious opacity surrounding its finances. Generally articles about Living Persons should probably be reserved for people who have been involved in multiple incidents, companies, or organisations related to consumer protection incidents. Not many people have made living person articles at this stage so we don't have any strict rules etc. on it, but the category is more intended for individuals like Mark Zuckerberg or some policymaker, where they've been involved in enough different controversies to fill a page. For this individual, I don't feel that there's much new info usefully included in this article which could not just be included in the DCA article instead.
Also a worthwhile distinction that came to me while writing this out (mainly for any of the regular wiki users who check this out) is that it's probably a good idea to avoid using Wikipedia's term for articles about living people, that being BLPs. BLP stands for biography of a living person, and we don't want any articles about living people to resemble full biographies; rather they should be focused very narrowly on their connection to consumer protection companies and incidents. - I'm someone who completely opposes living persons articles on the CRW as a whole, and I was surprised when I saw this, especially considering the weak connection. AnotherConsumerRightsPerson (talk) 20:01, 8 March 2026 (UTC)
- I am more in the middle here, I am normally wary of covering living persons here unless there's a significant amount of incidents surrounding the individual. Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg are good examples of people deserving coverage here considering their direct involvement in oh so many anti-consumer activities, but Casey here has only a couple infractions at best to cover here. - I completely agree with ACRP. — Sojourna (talk) 03:21, 9 March 2026 (UTC)
