Editing later. Rocksmith 2014 was a game by Ubisoft that's one of the few sources to learn guitar, and played like Guitar Hero with a real guitar. DLC was one time purchase. Game got delisted from all storefronts. It was a maior target for custom modding. Ubisoft didn't like that. They made it impossible to get a legitimate copy of in favor of Rocksmith+, which has COVERS of the previous licensed songs, no dlc transfer, and went to a expensive online-only subscription model that prevents modding

Rocksmith was a line of video games created by Ubisoft, providing one of the few methods of learning guitar with a game-like experience of Guitar Hero, but it is on an actual guitar. The game provided downloadable content (DLC) that it sold as a one-time buy. Rocksmith did get delisted on every storefront, so getting a legitimate copy is hard to accomplish.

The game was a natural fit for custom modding, which Ubisoft did not endorse. Rather than continuing the original Rocksmith, Ubisoft shifted to Rocksmith+,[1] a revised version that features covers of previously licensed tracks, does not support DLC transfers, and runs on an costly, online-only subscription model. This new model essentially eliminates modding, stripping away user flexibility and compensating players more.
