	Many e-bikes like those with Bosch or Shimano are closed source, where the communication between the controller and the battery are encrypted, making it very complicated for third-parties to provide spare parts.

	Some companies like [https://gouach.com Gouach] or [https://akkuvision.com/ AkkuVision] have figured a way around it by reverse-engineering them, to provide spare batteries for Bosch e-bikes, but it would be even better if the law required the constructors to open-source their communication protocol to make their e-bikes easier to repair.
