Having lived in the US, multiple countries in Europe and Asia, consider me a specialist of highlighting the truth of how consumers get F'ed in Asia. Which is a lot more than American consumers. How it is in Asia (especially South East Asia), where consumers are often screwed over and incredibly passive/non-vocal, is what companies want to shape America to be.
