Statement against Stop Killing Games - July 2025[edit | edit source]
On 4 July 2025, the group made a statement speaking against the ongoing Stop Killing Games movement advocated by Ross Scott. One of the reasons given was because it would make game development "too expensive".[4] A longer document version was also published alongside the statement.[5] However, this position is not universally shared by its group members.
Epic Games, however, was neutral on the matter. Tim Sweeney, its CEO, shared on Twitter that the company "hasn't lobbied or opined" on the initiative despite its logo being displayed by "various trade organizations" that may have taken a position on Stop Killing Games.[6]
BeamNG's Chief Technology Officer, Lefteris Stamatogiannakis, responded with the following on 9 July 2025 on Twitter:
