Protection One 320P1 Securuity System is a now end-of-life home security system including door and window sensors, glass break sensors, and alarm siren. Protection One was acquired by ADT [1]but has since discontinued operation leaving these systems useless.

Consumer-impact summary[edit | edit source]

This product was once able to dial police and fire through copper wire telephone cables. This home security system technically should be able to function without being connected to the phone system, however the firmware for the control panel will show COMS errors if it cannot reach a phone line. This effectively bricks the security system rendering it useless and consumers are not able to operate it in an "offline" mode.

From the product manual, one must "CALL FOR SERVICE" if any of the errors arise from being disconnected. The company doesn't exist and the website no longer works.

From the manual[edit | edit source]

COMM. FAILURE

(or FC)Indicates that a failure has occurred in

the telephone communication portion of

your system. CALL FOR SERVICE.
