Removal of functionalities on some PTZ cameras (2022)

[edit | edit source]

In 2022 Hikvision removed functionalities on some PTZ cameras (eg. DS-2DE4A425IW-DE(S6)) with a firmware update. In this instance the auto tracking, which was described as a feature in the user manual, was removed without prior notice with the firmware version V5.7.3SP2.[3][4][5] Some users have reported that the functionality was added back only in the newer hardware revision of that camera, the old version was then marked as discontinued.[6]
