In 2010, Honda reported that nearly "2.2 million customers" were affected by a data breach in the United States, including personal identifiable information (PII), such as "names, login names, e-mail addresses and 17-character Vehicle Identification Number".[1] This affected Honda luxury brand, Acura, with 2.7 million myAcura accounts, but that was limited to only emails per Honda.[1]

February 2011 - Honda Canada Customer Data Breach

The 2011 Honda Canada data breach exposed the personal information of 283,000 Honda and Acura owners across Canada.[2] The data, which was stored following a marketing campaign for customers to sign up to Honda myHonda and myAcura services.
