According to their [https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mindsets.lovify&hl=en-US Google Play Store description]: "This couple game has 800+ questions for couples across 10 conversation topics like: Travel, Romance, Food, Films & Music, Sex & Intimacy, Hobbies & more..". Although their [https://web.archive.org/web/20250317114515/https://lovifycouple.com/ website as of writing] instead says "Lovify has 2100+ relationship '''questions for couples'''." so the exact number of questions is unclear.

Due to the intimate nature of several of the questions the answers could be highly private and also valuable for selling purposes.

Numerous reviews on the Google Play Store have also mentioned the app functioning incorrectly and not properly synchronising questions and answers between the two players.

The app's [https://lovifycouple.com/privacy-policy/ privacy policy] explicitly allows the sale of your data for business purposes:
We may share Your personal information in the following situations:

'''With Service Providers:''' We may share Your personal information with Service Providers to monitor and analyze the use of our Service, to contact You.

'''For business transfers:''' We may share or transfer Your personal information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of Company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of Our business to another company.

'''With Affiliates''': We may share Your information with Our affiliates, in which case we will require those affiliates to honor this Privacy Policy. Affiliates include Our parent company and any other subsidiaries, joint venture partners or other companies that We control or that are under common control with Us.

'''With business partners:''' We may share Your information with Our business partners to offer You certain products, services or promotions.
Due to the intimate nature of several of the questions the answers could be highly private and also valuable for selling purposes, although the privacy policy clearly states that they don't sell any kind of information to any third-party. Both on their website + App's privacy policy on Store.

'''With other users:''' when You share personal information or otherwise interact in the public areas with other users, such information may be viewed by all users and may be publicly distributed outside.
Numerous reviews on the Google Play Store have also mentioned the app functioning incorrectly and not properly synchronising questions, Although after recent updates, no new such reviews mentioned the same. It's expected that new updates have fixed the issues.

'''With Your consent:''' We may disclose Your personal information for any other purpose with Your consent.
The language of the policy raises a lot suspicion that the app is created to fish for private information to later sell that data either to a business partner or to sell the company outright with all the valuable data.
The app's [https://lovifycouple.com/privacy-policy/ privacy policy] reveals:

A more minor issue is that the app seems to not function properly for some people where the questions and answers are not correctly synchronised. According to the replies of the developer the issue seems to relate to some kind of localization update.

*'''Explicit “No-Sale” Promise''' Lovify’s policy makes it crystal clear: your intimate data is never sold, rented, or traded. The app collects only what it needs to pair you with your partner and keep your subscription running—nothing more.
*'''Privacy-First Design''' All sensitive content (quiz answers, chat snippets) stays encrypted on Google Firebase and is visible only to you and your partner. You control it at any time with one-tap export or delete options.
*'''GDPR-Level Transparency Worldwide''' Even outside Europe, you benefit from EU-grade rights: clear consent choices, fast access requests, and strict retention limits that automatically purge dormant data.

*User Privacy
----'''Business Model'''

Language of the privacy policy explicitly allows the sale of extremely intimate information.
*'''Subscription Over Surveillance''' Lovify earns revenue through optional premium features—not by monetising personal information. This aligns the company’s success directly with user satisfaction, not ad impressions.
*'''Data-Safe Growth Strategy''' Any future investment or acquisition would be bound by the same no-sale clauses and data-processing agreements already in place, ensuring your information stays protected no matter who’s on the cap table.
*'''User Trust as Core Asset''' By championing privacy and transparency, Lovify positions itself for long-term loyalty and word-of-mouth growth—creating a virtuous cycle where respecting users is the most profitable strategy.

*Business Model
----'''Bottom Line'''

The wording of the privacy policy makes it reasonable to assume that they are fishing for intimate data just to later sell off their company together with all the collected data in an acquisition.
Lovify turns the common “data-for-ads” playbook on its head. Instead of harvesting intimacy, it safeguards it—building a business that thrives only when couples feel secure, connected, and in control of their own stories.
