Epic games might add Easy Anti Cheat to Rocket League, possibly forcing Linux users to be unable to play even through proton, https://steamdb.info/app/252950/history/?changeid=33486621 There are ways to implement EAC for Proton, but Epic Games has been proven very anti Linux, so i doubt they will even do the little change needed for that.
