This product was once able to dial police and fire through copper wire telephone cables. This home security system technically ''should'' be able to function without being connected to the phone system, however the firmware for the control panel will show COMS errors if it cannot reach a phone line. This effectively bricks the security system rendering it useless and consumers are not able to operate it in an "offline" mode.
