===Change of the terms of the sale after the sale (2026)===
On March 18th Superhive sent an email telling creators that all products on the platform will be sold as a yearly subscription of updates and support. Now, updates for new and previous purchases of licenses will be unavailable after the support period ends. Anyone who purchased a product within the last 2 years will receive updates and support up to 2 years depending on when they purchased the product. If a customer purchased a product more than 24 months ago they will receive no more updates starting when the policy goes into effect. This changes the terms and conditions for anyone who previously bought the product believing that this would not be a yearly subscription. It's important to note that Blender updates quite often (about a major version every year) and in the process a lot of add-ons are broken, so they receive compatibility patches for newer Blender versions. To get more updates, you have to pay 50% of the initial add-on cost to the platform and creator, yearly. <ref>{{Cite web |date=2026-03-16 |title=Support Periods Overview/Summary |url=https://public.3.basecamp.com/p/K44w2fSvEUR3DjXCLfeVhqSY |url-status=live |archive-url=https://megalodon.jp/2026-0322-0621-09/https://public.3.basecamp.com:443/p/K44w2fSvEUR3DjXCLfeVhqSY |archive-date=21 Mar 2026 |website=Basecamp}}</ref> This, in essence, turns any previous or future purchase into a subscription. As of March 21st Superhive has told publicly told this to their current customers, and they do not state this when currently purchasing from the storefront.
