[edit | edit source]Insyde develops a number of UEFI/BIOS products for a significant number of vendors, notably their flagship product InsydeH2O®[1] Which they provide customized options for an overwhelming majority market share of consumer laptops, including (but not limited to), products from vendors such as HP[2], Acer[3], Alienware[3], Fujitsu[3], Lenovo[3], Dell[3], Framework[4] & Microsoft.[5]
Their large proprietary firmware blobs (weighing in 16+ Megabytes) include headers and proprietary instructions and filesystems necessary for the boot and operation of all modern CPUs from Intel, AMD, Qualcomm, and Broadcom.
Included instructions encode chip vendor code to boot various surveillance programs such as the AMD PSP, Intel ME, Google Cr50 and Eclipse ThreadX which are heavily integrated into the cores, and essential to the boot sequence for the processor the user interfaces with.
