And recently I caught wind of a situation where a users battery of a under one year old $1500 Fiio M17 Music Player had swelled within manufacturer's warranty period of 1 year and was refused service. See below of a direct quote from an email received from the official service and warranty team the customer was sent to in their respective country (I cannot add photos yet for some reason)

In direct quotes regarding if a customer wishes for manufacturer service to China they state "such shipping often exceeds even the cost of repairing a FiiO out of warranty"
