Background

These NOOK devices were announced in September 2012, and later released in November 2012, offering access to Barnes & Noble’s digital bookstore, magazines, and media content.

Incident

In March of 2024, Barnes & Noble announced that they would be cutting off all support for their Nook HD and HD+ devices. This includes:

Purchasing content from the Barnes & Noble store.

Registering a new Barnes & Noble account.

Signing into existing Barnes & Noble accounts on these devices.

These devices were still perfectly usable for simply purchasing and reading content, however, support was cut off in June 2024.
