LG ThinQ and Download Cycles
[edit source]I am shopping for a new dishwasher and I found that LG is also moving into cloud/app restricted features. They call them "download cycles".
According to the user guide, only one can be stored at a time. Absurd -- like memory storage was expensive.
The same issues apply:
Requirement to sign up to a cloud account; vulnerability to network attacks; reliance on LG infrastructure; no guarantees that the features will remain available for the lifetime of the appliance Etasse (talk) 15:11, 14 January 2026 (UTC)
