In September 2025, Kayo Sports began requiring precise location to be provided in the iOS and Android apps in order to stream content.[1]
Expansion to all platforms
In July 2026, verification of location became required to stream on any platform, including TV operating systems (e.g. Apple TV) and web browsers.
Upon first launch of the Apple TV app, the user is presented with a QR code which launches the Kayo Sports mobile app (iOS/Android). The mobile app must have been granted location access in order to allow streaming (precise location required on iOS).
Consumer response
