Hi Travis - Keith here!

I've noticed you've been building out CAT articles, but that there seems to be considerable overlap with the existing mission statement, how to help page, and other existing policy pages. Is there a reason why these pages are being written from scratch? I do agree that existing policy pages should be better organised into a category with their own headers (like the CAT: you've used), but I wonder if this could be better helped by you creating a structure to fit those into, and then I or another admin can move the currently existing pages into the new structure. Similarly, the creation of pages for official taxonomy or definitions is 100% something that's on the cards... but probably needs to be discussed with staff before it can be adopted as policy.

(unfortunately don't have access to the discord until tomorrow evening - if this has been discussed there then please let me know!)

Thank you for contributing!

Hi @Keith! Thanks for reaching out. You raise a good point - I was trying to be proactive about creating some structural groundwork given the growing number of articles and varying and inconsistent formats we're seeing. The goal was to help establish some consistency in how information is organized and presented.
The existing documentation was considered in drafting these pages - they're all marked as under development specifically so we could work on integrating existing content and policies. Would it make sense to focus on building out this organizational framework together, then work on merging and aligning the current content into a more user-friendly structure? Happy to collaborate on whatever approach would be most helpful for the site. Travis (talk) 14:43, 17 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
