On August 15th, 2025 owners of CFMoto motorcycles outside of the United States began reporting that they had recieved an update to the CFMoto RideSync App that required users to agree to a subscription model for features which were included with the purchase at time of sale.
These features vary based on the model, year, and configuration of the individual vehicle, however a few common items include OTA software updates, GPS Capabilities, including tracking, Anti Theft Protection (geo fencing) and alerts related to Ride Tracking, and on some vehicles, digital keys, which can be used in place of a physical key to start the engine.
All these models required a T-BOX installed which, in most cases is included in the purchase of the motorcycle, however it is also sold as an additional item, often installed at a cost greater than $500 USD.
