Vont (also known as Vont Innovations) is an American company that produces smart electronics for consumers, ranging from headlamps to digital kitchen scales to plugs and security cameras.[2]

Around the start of 2024, the Vont Home app (used for management) disappeared from both the Apple App Store and Google Play. Users that had the app prior to its de-listing reported receiving a "failed to connect to server" error upon attempting to login (and thus unable to use their product as intended), and the company website itself being down.[3][4]

As of 5 November 2025, there has been no activity since late-2022 to early-2023 on the company's social media accounts for Facebook,[5] Instagram,[6] and X (formerly Twitter).[7] The official website returns a 522 error code via Cloudflare.

Vont still has an Amazon storefront,[8] though it lists only one product on the page (Vont Smart Security Camera).[9] On 7 Nov 2025, two more product listings (Vont LED camping lantern 2-pack and a separate 4-pack version) were added to that storefront, indicating that there is still activity.[10]

Curiously, there is another website using the both the company name and logo under the domain name "thevont" — which also has external links to the same social accounts and Amazon storefront ID.[11] This second website URL was registered 22 January 2025,[12] with Spaceship, Inc. — a domain registrar located in Phoenix, Arizona — acting as the agent.[13]

Additionally the wordmark, according to the United States Patent and Trademarks Office, has been registered to a Hong Kong company since 12 July 2022. According to the documents, the earliest first use of the wordmark is 1 June 2014 and the mentioned uses at that time appear to align with the goods Vont offers/offered.[14]

Consumer impact summary

  • Requires app download: The customer is forced to download the company app for some products in order to either activate or use — in whole or in part — said product(s). As the Vont Home app and company server have been unavailable starting around early 2024, the affected products have become e-waste and buyers left feeling defrauded due to having no warning and the overall lack of communication that continues to this day.
