The Osmo Pocket 3 is an action camera developed by DJI.
Incidents
The Osmo Pocket 3 camera requires the owner to use the DJI Mimo smartphone app. The camera can only be used 5 times without using the app for "activation". After 5 times the usage of the camera is impossible unless the DJI Mimo app is installed and used to "activate" the camera.[1]
Furthermore, activating the camera via the DJI Mimo app, requires users to agree to the DJI products terms of use, which include both binding arbitration and a class action waiver. [2]
This is an anti-consumer practice that forces users to install and use proprietary software on their mobile devices (see Forced app download), potentially giving up their personal data and depriving them of their right to hold DJI accountable in a court of law.
